The Converse Building is a three story mixed- use historic property in the Downtown Valdosta Historic District , approximately 14,000 SF and dates from 1911 . The historic rehabilitation project completed in 2019 with True North as the contractor.
The rehabilitation of the historic Converse Building consisted of ground floor commercial lease space, currently occupied with an Ice Cream Shop and Hair Salon. Office space is located on both the second and third floors. The office area consists of open office space configuration, common areas, some enclosed offices and a large conference room along Patterson on the Third Floor. The Project received all new building systems, including a new fire sprinkler system. The interior preserved all of the existing heavy timber structural system, much of the existing plaster and plank ceilings, where remaining.
This project received Federal and State Historic Tax Credits.
